Session 5 - Step 2
Add distance to pull back
The second half of the behaviour is easiest to add distanceAs before, stand beside the pole, say 'Round', and lure around the pole. Mark the behaviour as they go around with a verbal marker ('Good dog!'). Once you have marked it, take 2 - 3 steps backwards at speed to encourage your dog to quickly follow your for their treat.
We add distance to the second half of the behaviour first as this is much easier for your dog to get the hang of rather than the first half, plus it builds motivation for the behaviour as a whole. Keep things fun and light hearted as you go. Stick here until your dog gets it right 8 times out of 10.
Step 3 - Add distance to the send out.
Send your dog from further out each time.
