Teen & Adult Courses

Sometimes our teens who have done training before manage to forget everything and find themselves being driven purely by their emotions and hormones or maybe you have a dog who never did any training before. These courses aim to help these dogs find their feet again and blend more easily into our everyday lives.

Leash Walking

For dogs of 7 months and up this course focuses on walking nicely on leash and the supporting work to get there.

Walking nicely on leash is a big topic, not only do they need to learn to walk in a certain position, not to pull and to regularly check in with you, they also need to learn to do this past all the distractions of everyday life including running kids, busy shopping streets, passing doggy friends, and past dropped food. A large component to this work is self control.

Calm Canine

For dogs of all ages who struggle with over excitement on leash towards other dogs and sometimes people. A training consultation is required beforehand.

Sometimes our dog's greetings can be quite over-bearing for the other dog and gets them into trouble. Every dog they see they are on a mission to pull to get over to say hi to them. In this group we start to learn how to be content in our own company and how to approach nicely.

Teen Manners

For teens from 7 months up to 2 years of age. We focus on calm down, getting attention back and being able to work together in the real world.

With hormones raging for most teen dogs it is very important that we focus on easy and achievable work for you and your dog. Getting frustrated is too easy for these dogs and it is our job to set things up to avoid this and help them to navigate their teens into happy and healthy adults.

Recall Work

Open to teens from 7 months of age all through adults and seniors. We focus on recall and supporting behaviours such as attention and stopping.

Much like our leash walking course, this is a very big topic. Recall is something that has to work when we need it so we need to put a lot of work into making sure it does work in every context including the dog park, in the forest and around dropped food.

Park Walking Group

Invite-only group for dogs from 6 months of age and up. Reduce the novelty of being around other dogs and build robust doggy social skills. Requires group or one-to-one work first.

In this group we do not work on polite leash walking, this is a purely social group helping dogs learn to walk together comfortably, engaging as each dog is comfortable with.

Calm Down Coffee Shop

Open to dogs of all ages. Learn to sit still and enjoy the surroundings rather than constantly looking for attention or something to do.

Dogs often aren't good at just sitting back and watching the world. In our hectic world this is a very important skill for both your sanity and their wellbeing.
